For an electrical mechanic to gain a statement from QET that the applicant is competent in the trade work of electrical fitter, s/he will need to supply QET with a letter from their employer/s stating the type of electrical fitting work they have performed, and the period of time that they have performed it. This evidence can be in the way of experience gained here, or from overseas.

QET offers the following course for your off-job training:

Electrical Fitter Licence Training.

The electrical mechanic will then need to complete a theory exam on Electrical Fitting work. On successful completion of the exam, a Completion Statement, signed by your employer, yourself, and QET, is forwarded to the Electrical Licensing Dept for the issue of your electrical Fitter licence.
